I completed a piece for a friend who commissioned me to make a 12 by 12 inch frame with a textile work as a gift for her mother. 

My friend wanted to give it as a both a gift to her and as a celebration of what she has achieved. The recipient is a jeweller who has set up her own business and now her daughter works for her helping the company continue its legacy.

We used images from her old sketchbooks of motifs which she has since turned into charms to fill the canvas. 

I also experimented with new ways of beading and using patches to fill space as well as using chain stitches throughout.
